Every year Atlanta showcases some of the best art in the Nation. People from all over the US save the date to express their creative juices for 3 full days. I went two days in a row to assure I didn’t miss anything. I found 4 artists to be quite interesting and inspiring.
Fielder & Thelen Studio
This couple has found love through their art. Their team work is limitless. As one builds the molds and the other paints and weaves, they create large masterpieces that will add pazazz to any home.
I loved this art because of its character. Amy Flynn shops at vintage shops, finds unique parts and creates little people. While some have inserted hearts, her inspiration comes from the Tin Man in the “Wizard of Oz”. While they may look like glued together pieces, it’s actually welded together, which makes it that much more interesting.
Using clay to speak his language, Elliott has been creating for over 30 years. He takes the time to sketch out his work first, then piece by piece, paints and cultivates his language. This 3D art gives you a vibe a music, peace and culture.
My favorite of them all. This genius creates his work from wax, to plastic to metal. Mike creates the mold with wax, fills it with metal and two months later you have art that will stop EVERYONE in their tracks.
